Today marks 40 years since January 22, 1973, the day the Supreme Court ruled in the Roe v. Wade case, giving women in the U.S. the right to chose a safe, legal abortion.
Today is also the eighth annual Blog for Choice Day, sponsored by NARAL Pro-Choice America, which calls on activists across the Internet to share their personal stories about why they’re pro-choice.
And today NARAL Pro-Choice South Dakota is launching (or rather, re-launching) a blogging effort that we hope will create a safe space to share stories about choice, information about reproductive health and rights, and a place to offer encouragement to those of us who are still fighting for reproductive justice.
See? We told you today was a pretty big deal.
